Concrete desk

A work surface that brings equipment, water, heat and electronics into one parametric object. Each connection has a place, and each component needs room to work and be replaced.

01 / Explore the prototype

One idea, different outlines.

Choose a configuration, then look at the whole desk or its main layers. These are CAD-derived illustrations of generic design studies.

With return / Assembly

The worktop, equipment and service interfaces in one coordinated study. Equipment shapes represent reserved space rather than selected products.

A shaped worktop with a side return and an additional support study.

02 / Inside the desk

Every function has an interface.

The model coordinates physical parts with reserved space for connections, use and maintenance. Open each area for a closer look.

01

A place for the equipment

Speakers, a suspended subwoofer, a computer below the top and monitor support interfaces share the available space.

Design detail

The model reserves space for ventilation, cable connections and removal. Equipment dimensions and mounting patterns can change when actual products are selected.

02

Two distinct water functions

A heating loop within the worktop and a separate drinking-water interface for a bottom-fill cup.

Design detail

Heating supply and return remain separate from drinking water. The cup seat, accessible connections and spill management need their own technical development and physical tests.

03

Light, charging and connections

Wired connections, data, a worktop charging area and a vertical magnetic phone dock are coordinated with the object.

Design detail

Replaceable charging modules need a suitable non-metallic cover, alignment, clearance and heat management. A single recessed light is studied with a suspended diffuser; lighting output and selected hardware remain open.

04

Designed to be reached

Supports, service areas and removable components are considered alongside the visible surface.

Design detail

Development checks examine geometry, interferences and access envelopes. Load-bearing behaviour, anchorage, casting, thermal performance, water hygiene and electrical safety still require specialist verification.

03 / Why parametric

Change the outline. Keep the relationships.

Length alone does not define this desk. Its outline, equipment envelopes, attachment positions, routes and access areas are connected inputs. The current family accepts a declared set of polygonal outlines and rejects configurations that fail its current geometry checks.

The two studies shown here demonstrate a side return and an elongated outline. They are examples of the family, not a purchase specification or a finished installation.
