Easy Access

The Clearing

The Rock Face
A majestic 20-30 meter sheer rock cliff that defines the property's edge. We are currently cleaning the base to create a comfortable belay area. The solid limestone is perfect for bolting new sport climbing routes, making it a private crag for the community.
The Creek
A true locus amoenus running at the foot of the cliff. The area is shaded, cool, and features the Lower BBQ right by the water. It's the ultimate sanctuary for relaxing on hot summer days, dipping in the fresh water, and enjoying nature's sound.
🗺️ How to Get There
1. From Above (The View)
Drive 1 minute from the house on the paved road. Park and walk down less than 100m to reach the Upper BBQ. From there, you can descend along the rock face (an easy, safe path) to the creek.
2. From Below (The Creek)
A 5-minute walk from the houses along a wide, almost driveable path. This route takes you directly to the Lower BBQ and the creek level.

The Renovation Plan
🧹 Cleaning the Woods
The woods are currently messy, filled with rotten wood, fallen trees, and weeds. Our first step is to clean everything up to create a healthy, orderly forest.
This is a HUGE job that will require extensive manual labor over a long period of time.
- Healthy Wood: We'll select the best timber for construction purposes (BBQ structures, benches, etc.)
- Firewood: The remaining wood will be used as firewood—either transported to the houses for staff use OR kept at the BBQ sites
- Manual Transport: All wood must be cut and carried by hand through the forest to the designated locations
- Clear the key areas: Upper Clearing (camping & upper BBQ) and Lower Creek (lower BBQ & belay area)
🔥 The Two BBQ Areas
We will use the excess wood found on-site to fuel two distinct barbecue areas:

The Upper BBQ
Located in the clearing, facing the valley. Perfect for enjoying the panorama just 1 minute from the road.

The Lower BBQ
Located right next to the creek and the rock face. This will be our summer sanctuary—cool water, climbing wall, and fresh air.
Construction: Both will be built in a rustic style using natural stones supported by a steel and cement structure.
🔥 Safety First
These will be safe zones for fires, with no risk of spreading. We will keep a fire extinguisher permanently on-site (e.g., attached to a tree).

- Wood Clearing: Cutting and transporting wood (this will take a LONG time!)

Climbers & Route Setters
Transform the vertical cliff into a sport climbing paradise:
- Install Equipment: Place bolts, anchors, and belay stations on the rock face
- Route Development: Design and set sport climbing routes of various difficulties
- Create a safe, community climbing spot with proper equipment

Manage and nurture this wooded hillside ecosystem:
- Forest Management: Oversee cleaning, harvesting, and sustainable timber selection
