The close-by supermarket for everyday groceries. As a planning reference from the hamlet: around 20 minutes on foot or 3–4 minutes by bicycle, to be checked against the actual route.

“Possiamo avere una carta punti?”

Many promotions require a Carrefour card. The Italian phrase above asks for one; always check the offer conditions.

Larger and more fully stocked than the local store, with fresh-food departments and many services. Indicative reference: around 50 minutes on foot or 13 minutes by bicycle; always check the route.

Rail

Two stations, two directions.

Cairo Montenotte is the local reference. San Giuseppe di Cairo is often more useful for fast regional trains to Turin and selected direct services along the Riviera.

Regional trains connect Cairo with Savona via San Giuseppe and Altare; in the opposite direction they continue toward Acqui Terme and, on selected services, Alessandria. For Finale Ligure, check the day’s itinerary: the usual plan involves a change in Savona.

The RFI timetable includes direct fast regional services to Torino Porta Nuova and, on selected days and times, trains continuing beyond Savona to Finale Ligure and the Riviera. Frequency and operating days vary: always check before leaving.

San Giuseppe Hospital.

This is Cairo Montenotte’s district hospital, at Corso Martiri della Libertà 30. It is not a 24-hour emergency department: the local urgent-care service is a First Intervention Point with a defined scope.

ASL2 reserves it for self-presenting patients with low-complexity conditions. Ambulances take patients to the relevant emergency department under regional rules.

The booking desk is listed as open from 07:30 to 12:00, with ticket payments by card only; laboratory and radiology reports are listed for collection from 12:00 to 14:30.
