Abstract
I’m Simone, the founder of ColivingLiguria. If you’re here to volunteer, you’re not just joining a project—you’re joining a personal mission. This is the story of why I’m trading my city life for a toolkit, and why I’m looking for hands-on people to join me in building this place from the ground up.
The Search
It all started with a search. I’m a student, and for most of my life, I’ve bounced between Italy, Switzerland, and Germany, driven by a dual passion for big ideas (philosophy) and complex problems (mathematics).
In 2024, I was planning my next move—to Amsterdam for my M.Sc. Logic (UvA)—after finishing my B.A. Philosophy (LMU) and while wrapping up my B.Sc. Mathematics (LMU). But as I looked for a place to live, I was hit by a wave of frustration. The rent was impossibly high. The options were small, uninspiring rooms in shared flats.
I found myself searching for something that felt just out of reach, a place that could be:
- Affordable: A place where I wouldn’t have to stress about rent.
- Communal: I wanted to be surrounded by interesting, driven people, not just anonymous roommates.
- In Nature: I craved space, fresh air, and a view that wasn’t a brick wall.
- Connected: I didn’t want to be forced into buying a car. I needed reliable public transport to stay autonomous and connected.
I searched everywhere. I found expensive city coliving spaces, isolated rural houses with no connections, and cheap spots in cold, grey climates. But the simple combination of community, nature, autonomy, and affordability? It just didn’t exist.
So, I decided I would have to build it myself—literally.
The Accelerator
That personal frustration was only half the story.
At the same time, I was starting to work on my other entrepreneurial project, a hardware startup called Luna. As I planned the R&D, I hit the exact same wall, but from a professional angle.
Where could I possibly find the space to build a lab? What landlord, especially in a city, would let me set up prototyping equipment, test large-scale hardware, and run a workshop?
That’s when the vision for ColivingLiguria snapped into focus. This wouldn’t just be a solution to my housing problem. It would be the physical launchpad for my other company—a project that, like ColivingLiguria, has since been validated by securing funding from the FESR Azione 1.3.3. EU Grant.
To get it all running, I wouldn’t need a team of expensive contractors. I would need a community. I would need volunteers.
The Solution: A Blank Canvas
ColivingLiguria is the answer. It’s the home I was looking for, and it’s the workshop Luna needed.
But right now, it’s also a blank canvas. The properties we are acquiring, like Casa del Noce and Casa del Forno, are solid and beautiful, but they need life. They are rustic. They need deep cleaning, new paint, gardens to be planted, and community spaces to be built.
This is where you come in.
My mission is to create the space I couldn’t find, and I’m looking for people who want to co-create it with me. It’s for the remote worker, the artist, and the entrepreneur… but it’s especially for the doer, the builder, and the person who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty to build something unique from the ground up.
This is a place to live, to connect, and to build. It’s a direct invitation to be part of the foundation.

Sono Simone, il fondatore di ColivingLiguria. Se sei qui per fare volontariato, non stai solo partecipando a un progetto: stai partecipando a una missione personale. Questa è la storia del perché sto scambiando la mia vita in città con una cassetta degli attrezzi, e del perché sto cercando persone pronte a mettersi in gioco per costruire questo posto da zero insieme a me.
La Ricerca
Tutto è iniziato con una ricerca. Sono uno studente e per la maggior parte della mia vita ho fatto la spola tra Italia, Svizzera e Germania, spinto da una doppia passione per le grandi idee (la filosofia) e i problemi complessi (la matematica).
Nel 2024, stavo pianificando la mia prossima mossa — trasferirmi ad Amsterdam per il mio M.Sc. Logic (UvA) — dopo aver terminato la mia B.A. Philosophy (LMU) e mentre stavo concludendo il mio B.Sc. Mathematics (LMU). Ma mentre cercavo un posto dove vivere, sono stato travolto da un’ondata di frustrazione. Gli affitti erano incredibilmente alti. Le opzioni erano stanze piccole e anonime in appartamenti condivisi.
Mi sono ritrovato a cercare qualcosa che sembrava irraggiungibile, un posto che potesse essere:
- Accessibile: Un posto dove non dovermi stressare per l’affitto solo per avere un tetto sopra la testa.
- Comunitario: Volevo essere circondato da persone interessanti e motivate, non solo da coinquilini anonimi.
- Nella Natura: Desideravo spazio, aria fresca e una vista che non fosse un muro di mattoni.
- Collegato: Non volevo essere costretto a comprare un’auto. Avevo bisogno di un accesso affidabile ai trasporti pubblici per rimanere autonomo e connesso.
Ho cercato ovunque. Ho trovato spazi di coliving costosi in città, case rurali isolate senza collegamenti e posti economici in climi freddi e grigi. Ma la semplice combinazione di comunità, natura, autonomia e convenienza? Semplicemente non esisteva.
Così, ho deciso che avrei dovuto costruirlo io stesso—letteralmente.
L’Acceleratore
Quella frustrazione personale era solo metà della storia.
Nello stesso periodo, stavo iniziando a lavorare sul mio altro progetto imprenditoriale, una startup hardware chiamata Luna. Mentre pianificavo la fase di Ricerca e Sviluppo, mi sono scontrato con lo stesso identico muro, ma da un punto di vista professionale.
Dove avrei mai potuto trovare lo spazio per costruire un laboratorio? Quale padrone di casa, specialmente in una città, mi avrebbe permesso di installare attrezzature di prototipazione, testare hardware su larga scala e gestire un’officina?
È stato allora che la visione di ColivingLiguria è diventata chiara. Non sarebbe stata solo una soluzione al mio problema abitativo. Sarebbe stata la rampa di lancio fisica per la mia altra azienda—un progetto che, come ColivingLiguria, è stato da allora convalidato ottenendo i fondi del FESR Azione 1.3.3. EU Grant.
Per avviare tutto, non avrei avuto bisogno di un team di costosi appaltatori. Avrei avuto bisogno di una comunità. Avrei avuto bisogno di volontari.
La Soluzione: Una Tela Bianca
ColivingLiguria è la risposta. È la casa che stavo cercando ed è l’officina di cui Luna aveva bisogno.
Ma in questo momento, è anche una tela bianca. Le proprietà che stiamo acquisendo, come Casa del Noce e Casa del Forno, sono solide e bellissime, ma hanno bisogno di vita. Sono rustiche. Hanno bisogno di pulizie profonde, di vernice fresca, di giardini da piantare e di spazi comunitari da costruire.
È qui che entri in gioco tu.
La mia missione è creare lo spazio che non riuscivo a trovare, e sto cercando persone che vogliano co-crearlo con me. È per il lavoratore da remoto, per l’artista e per l’imprenditore… ma è soprattutto per la persona pratica, per il “costruttore” e per chi non ha paura di sporcarsi le mani per costruire qualcosa di unico da zero.
Questo è un posto dove vivere, connettersi e costruire. È un invito diretto a far parte delle fondamenta.
