Abstract
This document outlines the strict safety protocols and liability clauses regarding the use of fire in the wooded areas of ColivingLiguria, specifically for the BBQ area in “The Cliffside”.
Fire Safety Policy
Lighting a fire in the woods is a serious responsibility. The risk of wildfire is real, especially in dry seasons. To ensure the safety of our community and the environment, the following rules must be strictly adhered to.
1. Designated Areas Only
- Fires are ONLY permitted in the designated BBQ area constructed with stone and steel.
- NO open fires on the ground outside of this structure are allowed under any circumstances.
2. Mandatory Precautions
- Fire Extinguisher: A fire extinguisher must be present and easily accessible (located on the designated tree) before lighting any fire. Check that it is charged.
- Supervision: A fire must NEVER be left unattended. At least one responsible adult must be present at all times until the fire is completely extinguished.
- Extinguishing: The fire must be completely extinguished with water or soil before leaving the site. The ashes must be cold to the touch.
3. Weather Conditions
- No Wind: Do not light a fire if there is strong wind. Sparks can travel and ignite nearby vegetation.
- Dry Season: During periods of extreme drought or when official fire bans are in effect, NO FIRES are allowed, even in the designated BBQ.
4. Liability and Responsibility
WARNING
Liability Clause: By lighting a fire, you assume full personal responsibility for any consequences. You acknowledge that you have read and understood these safety rules.
- Any damage caused to the property, the environment, or third parties due to negligence or failure to follow these rules will be the sole responsibility of the individual(s) who lit or managed the fire.
- ColivingLiguria and its owners accept no liability for accidents or damages resulting from the use of the BBQ area.
5. Emergency Procedures
In case of a fire spreading beyond the designated area:
- Attempt to extinguish immediately using the on-site extinguisher, water, or soil, ONLY if it is safe to do so.
- Call Emergency Services (112) immediately if the fire cannot be controlled instantly.
- Alert the Community and evacuate the area.
