Overview

The Graphics Sub-Team is tasked with completely redesigning the visual identity and graphic style guidelines for ColivingLiguria. The current guidelines in AI-Website-Build-Guide are to be treated as a starting point only, not as final decisions.

Once the redesign is complete and approved by Simone, the new style guidelines will be applied across the entire website (TSX components, Markdown pages, LaTeX documents) using AI-assisted batch updates.


Scope of Work

1. Logo Design 🎨

Current Status: We have a preliminary logo, but it requires professional review and possible redesign.

Requirements:

  • The logo must be clear and readable at all sizes (favicon to banner)
  • Must work on both light and dark backgrounds
  • Should convey: community, nature, Liguria, hospitality
  • Deliverables needed:
    • Full colour version
    • Monochrome version (black & white)
    • Icon-only version (for favicons/small spaces)
    • Text-only version (for contexts where icon is shown separately)
    • Vector source files (SVG/AI)

Current logo location: /quartz/static/logo/


2. Colour Palette 🎨

Current file: Color-Palette.md

Task: Review and completely redefine the colour palette. Consider:

  • Primary brand colours
  • Secondary/accent colours
  • Semantic colours (success, warning, error, info)
  • Light mode colours
  • Dark mode colours
  • CSS variable naming conventions

Deliverable: Updated Color-Palette.md with new HEX/RGB codes and CSS variables.


3. Typography

Task: Define font choices for:

  • Headings (H1-H6)
  • Body text
  • UI elements (buttons, labels)
  • Code blocks

Consider: Google Fonts availability, readability, loading performance.


4. Photo Selection & Guidelines 📸

Current file: Photo-Assets.md

Task:

  • Review all existing photos
  • Define which photos are suitable for marketing/hero use
  • Establish photo style guidelines (lighting, mood, composition)
  • Identify missing photos that need to be taken
  • Curate/select stock photos if needed

5. Design Principles & Keywords

Current file: Design-Principles.md

Task: Redefine the core design philosophy. Current keywords include:

  • “1920s Walls, 1950s Aesthetics, 2025 Technology”
  • Minimalist, serene, organic, warm

Propose a cohesive vision while respecting the brand’s rural/community identity.


6. Component Styling

Task: Review and potentially redesign the visual style of:

  • Cards
  • Buttons
  • Navigation
  • Footer
  • Profile pages
  • Hero sections
  • Tables and lists

All styles are defined in /quartz/components/styles/.


Process

  1. Research & Moodboard: Designer creates a visual moodboard with references
  2. Draft Proposal: Present initial ideas to Simone for feedback
  3. Iteration: Refine based on discussion
  4. Final Approval: Simone approves the final style guide
  5. Implementation: AI applies new styles across all documents (TSX, MD, LaTeX)
